The Sobey-Jones Educational Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Charity no. 1175268) whose exclusive purpose is to provide awards to students in higher education. The award application process requires the submission of personal information in order for us to determine whether or not an award can be considered.

If you apply for an award: The Sobey-Jones Educational Foundation will collect and securely store the information you have submitted on the application form for as long as is needed in order to complete the current application and awarding process.
In the first instance, we only ask you to provide the personal information necessary for your initial application. This includes your name, address, date of birth, an email address and/or telephone number. Should you be shortlisted for an award, we may then ask for further information to verify your identity and confirm that you are under 25 years of age.
We will only retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the intended purpose and to comply with any legal, accounting or taxation requirements. If you are not an award recipient, your personal details (and those of any referees) are destroyed at the end of the current awarding process. Relevant personal information relating to award recipients is only retained to comply with reporting and accounting purposes for as long as is legally required. All other information is destroyed once the current awarding process has been completed.
